Alex Shapiro is one of the West coast's most familiar composers writing rhythmically driven acoustic and electroacoustic chamber music. Chances are you've heard her music, either in performance or in weekly broadcasts across the U.S. and internationally. Her music is often lyrical and highly expressive. Host John Clare caught up with Shapiro during the Chamber Music America Conference at the Westin Times Square in Manhattan. The two talked about creativity, the virtual world, and music.
